Let‘s Run Park Seoul said on October 4 that it hired Stephen Derek Lloyd 59 a foreign veteran with 40 years of experience in funeral services. He has been a funeral service provider since 1996 making his 40th career anniversary this year. He worked at six racetracks in the central part of the U.K. and taught at Hereford School of Farrier. He was in charge of funeral services for three years in France. Having worked in various countries he has built a new nest in the Korean Horse Association‘s health department. Personally my dream was to create a permanent horse racing market. I also designed a marketplace where my whole family could visit me on weekends to ride horses watch shows and buy supplies at the horse racing park. It was intended to attract the horse racing in Yeonggwang South Jeolla Province and recently a local government in the metropolitan area showed interest in it and is pushing for it. Even in Korea where the FTA has begun in earnest the income of cows and pigs is gradually decreasing. The government also encourages horse racing but it is in its infancy. Management is still difficult at the scene such as horse racing and ranching and there is no market. However I think the possibility of development is endless. For the horse industry to develop we must focus on research and development. Also I hope there will be a practical organization that represents the rights and interests of workers in the horse industry. It is establishing a plant in Chilgok. It plans to start operation in earnest from next year. It will also push for the establishment of a farming corporation. After slaughter it will supply animal feed. It has also been negotiated with a company that specializes in pet food in Korea. The horse industry which is known as an alternative to the FTA era is now difficult but it started out with the intention of scratching the horse industry‘s most itchy spot. I visited the company first after seeing the announcement of a project to diversify the use of retired horses.Slaughtered meat has been made into pilot products such as beef jerky and sausage specialized in pets.
